Plain English summary: ChoreGate helps parents manage their children's screen time through Apple's built-in parental controls. We collect the minimum data necessary to make the service work. We never sell your data. We never see, route, or store your children's internet traffic or app usage data. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.
ChoreGate ("we," "us," or "our") is a family productivity service operated by ChoreGate, LLC. Our service allows parents to link their children's app and screen time access to completion of daily chores, using Apple's Family Controls (Screen Time) framework.

We do not collect, store, or inspect any information about what websites or apps your child uses. ChoreGate never routes, intercepts, or monitors your child's internet traffic. App restrictions are enforced entirely on-device by Apple's operating system — not by our servers.
When a parent enrolls a child's device (phone or tablet) via ChoreGate's setup QR code, we collect the following on a per-device basis. A child can have multiple devices linked (e.g. an iPhone and an iPad), and we track each one independently:
Location data is stored as a single most-recent position per device — not a history. We do not retain prior locations, we do not build movement trails, and we do not share or sell location data with anyone. Location is visible only to the members of your family account (both parents in a co-parent family). Parents can unlink any device at any time from the child's detail screen; once unlinked, that device's location data is deleted on the next housekeeping pass.
ChoreGate does NOT integrate with Apple Family Sharing, Apple's Find My network, or any third-party location provider. We use our own protocol running between the child's ChoreGate app and our own servers. This means your family's location data stays inside ChoreGate — it is not accessible to Apple, not aggregated with other Apple users, and not exposed to any other ChoreGate family.
ChoreGate is designed for use by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Child profiles are created and managed entirely by the parent or guardian. Children interact only with the chore portal page, which does not require account creation or collection of personal information.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us at privacy@choregate.io and we will delete it promptly.
ChoreGate complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to the extent applicable.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral tracking, or to build profiles for sale to third parties.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
When you delete your account, all associated data — including child profiles, chore history, and device configurations — is permanently deleted within 24 hours.
We take security seriously:
No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to security@choregate.io. See also our security.txt for our responsible-disclosure policy.
